Lasting progress on gender equality in politics requires more than empowering women — it requires changing the environment around them. AllyGround is a new programme that brings men into the conversation, engaging male allies within political parties, local civil society organisations, and local media to take coordinated action in support of greater women’s representation in local politics.
Working in Gaziantep and Van, AllyGround builds on years of D84’s work on women’s political participation, opening a new chapter that recognizes allyship as an essential component of systemic change. The programme creates spaces for reflection, dialogue, and collective commitment — because meaningful representation requires everyone at the table.
