
Burak Bilgehan Özpek is a Professor of International Relations at TOBB University of Economics and Technology in Ankara, Turkey. He holds a PhD in Political Science and International Relations from the same institution. His research focuses on Turkish foreign policy, Middle Eastern politics, and the theoretical aspects of international relations. Özpek has published extensively in academic journals and mainstream media, contributing to critical discussions on democracy, conflict resolution, and regional geopolitics. As a prominent public intellectual in Turkey, he frequently appears in media to analyze political and foreign policy developments.
Enes Özkan is an economist and a researcher at the Social Sciences Institute of Istanbul University. He is one of the founders and the business development director of the Blockchain Technologies and Innovation Center, established under the Faculty of Economics with funding from the
Ministry of Trade, Istanbul Development Agency, Istanbul University Scientific Research Projects Unit, and several private sector companies. His research focuses on consumer and investor psychology within the framework of behavioral economics.
Since 2018, he has participated in over 200 programs on more than 15 different YouTube channels, with a combined viewership exceeding 8.5 million. Currently, his most active platform in new media is Nevşin Mengü’s YouTube channel, where he comments on the Turkish economy 1-2 times per week. In traditional media, he has been a guest on more than 40 programs to date. He is also the founder of Daktilo1984, a new media and research institution, where he has hosted more than 70 programs and featured approximately 80 different guests, including business people, academics, artists, and politicians. Daktilo1984 aims to “reproduce academic knowledge in more consumable formats” through its YouTube and podcast channels.
Outside of his new media activities, Özkan provides professional consultancy services in areas such as the effective use of blockchain technologies for public institutions; sustainability, business and human rights, new technologies and social transformation, and consumer trends for private sector companies; and dynamic project management and business development for civil society organizations. To date, he has managed numerous projects across academia, civil society, and the private sector, with a cumulative budget exceeding 60 million TL. He has collaborated on projects with reputable organizations such as Google Turkey, the European Union Delegation to Turkey, ALDA (France), the Fraser Institute (Canada), SILC (Sweden), Atlas Network (USA), and the Mercator (Germany).
In addition, Özkan is the co-founder and CEO of a boutique role-playing game company based in the United States.
Özge Öner is an Associate Professor of Economics and Urban Planning at the University of Cambridge. She completed her PhD in Economics and Urban Studies at Jönköping University. Her research focuses on urban and regional economics, political geography, and the socioeconomic dynamics of cities. She has authored several academic papers, including notable works like Getting the First Job: Size and Quality of Ethnic Enclaves published in the Journal of Regional Science. In addition to her academic work, she contributes to public discourse through lectures and seminars on urban policy and development.
Aybike Boyacıoğlu is an executive management assistant at Reform Institute and an experienced content producer with a background in media and civil society. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science and International Relations from Marmara University and completed an Erasmus program at Università di Pavia. Boyacıoğlu has worked with platforms like Medyascope and Daktilo1984, where she focused on media content creation.
İlkan Dalkuç is a political analyst and commentator specializing in Turkish politics. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Economics from Ege University. Dalkuç is a prominent contributor to Daktilo1984 as Audio-Visual Content Coordinator and he also regularly appears on political analysis programs such as Çavuşesku’nun Termometresi. Known for his engaging and accessible presentation style, Dalkuç combines in-depth research with sharp political insights. In addition to his national visibility, Dalkuç is frequently invited to international media outlets and YouTube channels to provide expert commentary on Turkish politics and regional dynamics. His analyses have been featured on platforms like TVP World and Babylon Balkan Show, demonstrating his growing recognition as a leading voice in Turkish political discourse.
Derya Özkaynak Suer holds a Master’s degree in Social Projects and NGO Management from Istanbul Bilgi University (2021–2023) and a Bachelor’s degree in History from Boğaziçi University (2005–2011). She currently serves as the Director of Administrative Affairs and Projects at D84, has extensive experience in project management and civil society, having coordinated major initiatives. Her work focuses on building capacity in civil society organizations, dynamic project management, fundraising, and fostering cross-cultural dialogue.
Kardelen Deniz holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from METU and is currently continuing her Master’s Studies in International Relations at TOBB ETU. She serves as a Programs and Administration Coordinator at D84. She specializes in political psychology, project management, and media. Deniz has experience in civil society, including contributions to research projects like the impact of social media laws on press freedom and foreign policy governance. She is skilled in data collection, analysis, and content creation, leveraging these abilities to design and implement impactful projects. Her interests include fundraising and think-tank operations, reflecting her commitment to advancing civil society initiatives.
Bahadır Çelebi is the Managing Editor at Daktilo1984 and a political scientist specializing in international relations and historical sociology. He earned his PhD in Political Science from Istanbul University. Çelebi’s research explores the historical roots of political systems and their contemporary implications. He is a regular contributor to public discussions on governance and societal transformation in Turkey. His editorial work at Daktilo1984 focuses on fostering intellectual discourse through accessible and well-researched content.
